3 Nights / 4 Days: Munnar Thekkady Tour

Munnar, the Kashmir of South India is a part of Kerala. It is one of the most popular hill stations in India. Layer after layer of tea gardens, mountain mist, waterfalls and forest sanctuaries make Munnar almost surrealistically beautiful. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make Munnar unique experience. The visitor is greeted with miles and miles of unending tea plantations on entry into Munnar.

Among the exotic flora found in the forests, Neelakkurinji, a flower, which bathes the hills in blue Colour once every twelve years. The Neelakkurinji, will bloom next in 2006AD. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi - which towers over 2695 M and is an ideal spot for campers who like to do some trekking.

Thekkady, a 780 sq kilometre game sanctuary - the home of wildlife like the bison, Nilgiri langur, sambar, spotted deer, flying squirrels, owls, hornbills, makhnas, gaur, wild elephants etc.

Periyar is designated a part of the Project Tiger and during the dry season, when waterholes deeper in the forest dry up you may be very lucky to spot a tiger or a leopard coming to Lake Periyar for a drink. However the park is most famous for its elephants. Early morning and dusk trips into the forest are recommended.

Day 01 : Madurai/Cochin - Munnar
Arrival at either Madurai/Cochin Airport or Railway Station. Upon arrival meeting & assistance and transfer to Munnar. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02 : Munnar
After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing of Munnar covering Mattupatti Dam and Eravaikulam National Park. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03 : Munnar - Thekkady
After breakfast drive to Thekkady to visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar and view the Wildlife. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04 : Thekkady - Madurai/Cochin
After breakfast transfer to Madurai/Cochin airport or railway station.
